We believe that children learn best through experience. It is a joy to witness how young children grow socially, cognitively, and emotionally, through exploration and group interaction. The Reggio Emilia approach to learning is hands-on and supports our own understanding and beliefs regarding children's development.
Aspirations was opened in April of 2008 by Alan and Theresa Heim, a local family, and was truly a labor of love. Our school was designed from the ground up to be a Reggio-inspired learning environment, with inviting, open classrooms with access to natural light. Our playgrounds have wide expanses of open area so children can jump and run, as well as areas that promote cooperative play experiences. In December of 2019, Aspirations was acquired by Bright Horizons Family Solutions. While many of us who had been with Aspirations since 2008 were unsure of what the future would hold, our new Bright Horizons family has embraced "us", their newest member, and wholeheartedly support our autonomy and our desire to stay true to the Reggio approach to learning. We are truly blessed.
Since Aspirations opened our doors, the surrounding community has warmly embraced the Reggio triad of, 'child, parent and teacher' - working as a team, providing students the opportunity to explore, discover and grow.
Today, with the dedication of a wonderfully talented staff, we are creating a unique learning environment for every child, by stimulating a love of learning. We embrace the Reggio approach fully and strive to mold the program into a warm, safe, secure, environment, where children work together to reach their full learning potential.
How fortunate we are to have fulfilled a dream, established a national reputation as a model Reggio school and joined with you, our school community to help our children "Aspire to Greatness."
